Chuck and Joe, this is the Dispatcher. Welcome aboard our little Short Line.
From your familiarisation session yesterday (the Krashnburne Template) you should be aware that you MUST follow our five SOP rules
1. The switches with tall switch stands must be returned to the straight through setting if the setting has been altered for switching purposes.
2. Do not follow directly behind a Class 1 train into a single track section if there is the possibility that an opposing Class 1 will be waiting in the next crossing loop. If you do you might find that the Class 1 train locks your facing switch.
During switching operations
3. If the your train runs forward over the switch leading to the single track, then it must continue moving forward until the last vehicle passes the signal behind the train, that is, the signal protecting the entry to the loop.
4. If the your train runs past the box with red and green lights standing to the right of the track in the single track section, then the train must proceed onwards into the next loop.
5. If the your train moves through the section of track between the Limit of Shunt signs, then the train must continue on until all the vehicles have cleared the signs.
Also remember that your train can take control of a single track section. Providing your train has passed the box with red and green lights on a single track section before an oncoming Class 1 in a loop passes the signals allowing it to enter the single track section, the Class 1 will stop and allow the your train to continue onwards and enter the Class 1 train loop.
In general, give priority to the Class 1 railroad trains. In crossing loops the Class 1 will always take the right track.
This should be an easy morning for you.
Pick up the freight cars in Transfer West. The tank cars are to be left at Stoopid Fuels, unload and leave the hopper with the casting sand at MultiManufacture.
Unload the steel coils there too, but then reload the flats with containers at the Port.
While you are there, attach the loaded grain cars. Leave the loaded flats and grain cars in Transfer East.
You are authorised to travel at up to 40mph except in yard areas where the normal limit apply.
