Class 319/0 units are formed in the following formation:
DTCO+MSO+TSOL+DTSO
Network Southeast introduced 60 Class 319/0s into service in 1988 on the recently opened Thameslink route from Beford to Brighton via Snow Hill Tunnel. An additional batch of 20 Class 319/1s were introduced in 1990, these differed from the 319/0s in that they had first class accomadation and were painted in a different varient of the NSE livery.
Upon privatisation 40 Class 319/0s were transferred to the Thameslink franchise and the other 20 to Connex South Central. The Class 319/0s remained broadly in Network Southeast livery until 1997 - 98 when Thameslink converted their 40 Class 319/0s into 319/4, by introducing a first class compartment in the former DTSO (A) vehicle and repainting them into Thameslink Navy and Yellow livery. Some Class 319/0 members did carry an earlier Thameslink livery but this proved to be short lived.
The Class 319/0s owned by Connex were repainted into Connex livery around 1997 - 1998 although seven of them were converted into 319/2s for their Express service between London Victoria and Brighton. This involved completely re-arranging the seating into a low density layout including a lounge area installed in the MSO and a First Class compartment installed in half of the DTSO (A). The other 12 Class 319/0s owned by Connex were left largely in original condition, except for being repainted into Connex colours.
Upon Southern taking over the South Central franchise from Connex in 2001, the 12 Class 319/0s were repainted into Southern Green livery (This model represents the Class 319/0s in Southern Green livery, with Southern spec interior) but the interiors still retained there original NSE appearence, they remained this way even when all Class 319s were transferred to First Capital Connect in 2007. Upon transfer to First Capital Connect, many of the Class 319/0s retained their Southern Livery but with First Capital Connect branding applied. Upon TSGN taking over the Thameslink franchise in 2014, Many Class 319/0s have repainted into TSGN White but some still have their old Southern Livery.
