PBR No. 861 is an 1886 Coulliet(Built for Decauville) locomotive built for the Metropolitan Gas Works of Melbourne, Australia. She and his sister engine, 'Carbon' have both made it to the Puffing Billy Railway, however by that time No. 861 'John Benn'(Now J. C. Rees) had been extensively overhauled with a saddle tank, lead and trailing wheels, a longer frame, cowcatcher and R&H stack to resemble an 1880's American narrow gauge engine. J. C. Rees is most notable for the PBR's 'Drive a Steam Train' program by which patrons can enjoy a 7:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m. workday hauling trains between Emerald, Lakeside and Cockatoo, meeting other trains at Lakeside, switching(or shunting to those non-Americans) and maintaining the engine.
