  msg-5                                 "ENGINEER:<br><br> We’re beginning the long descent of Marias west slope now-pretty much a 1.8 percent descending grade from here at the way to Java. But the good news is we have double-track all the way down to Java Bridge."

There’s a horseshoe curve just above Blacktail and you’ll see where Tunnel No. 1 stood (The construction team of the BNSF railroad done a pretty nice job removing the tunnel they haven’t left any evidence behind). Between Blacktail and Java, there are numerous snow sheds to protect the route in winter from massive drifts and slides."
  msg-7                                 "CONDUCTOR TO ENGINEER:<br><br>  Just got a message from Essex operator. Sounds like a helper set broke a coupler knuckle down the single track below Java. We’re going to have to stop and wait at Java East. We are already late-the division super is not going to be happy!"
