The foundry at Jädraås was originally built in 1903 to supply the company’s workshop with the castings it needed.
But as early as 1912 it was disbanded an was then used as an engine house.
This was one of at least four engine houses and workshops.
It is mainly built from slag stone, a byproduct of the ironworks. That gives the stones ther distinctive bluish color.
The engine house has individually opening doors for each track.
