Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless radioactive noble gas with the appearance of a red color in a discharge tube. Radon is the only element that exists as a radioactive gas that decays by alpha particles (Helium). Radon has only one known compound: Radon difluoride. Radon exists in nature by the decay of uranium as a gas and is found in the ground, and atmosphere at 0.0000000000000000001%. Radon has only four isotopes: Radon 218 [Half Life: 35 Milliseconds]{Trace}, Radon 219 [Half LIfe: 3.96 Seconds]{Trace}, Radon 220 [Half Life: 55.6 Seconds]{Trace}, and Radon 222 [Half Life: 3.8235 Days]{Trace}. Radon has limited uses due to it's danger of being a radioactive gas and being easily inhaled. The only uses of radon are medical to treat cancer and scientific reasearch of soil. Because Radon is a heavy gas, it accumulates in basements and low levels of buildings. Radon 222 is the longest live isotope with 3.8235 days and decays to polonium 218 which further decays making Radon a concern with lung cancer. I first employed the thought of Radon Gas in my Trainz world while I was studying environmental geology at COD. I created this product to be used as helium production because Radon is considered a waste gas. Open up Explorer for Radon Decay Chain photo and additional notes.
