The Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway had built 2-2-2WTs to replace the Dublin and Kingstown Railway Engines. The D&KR had been worked by the DWWR since 1856 and the D&KR engines were old, small and underpowed and in 1870s they needed to be replaced. The DWWR built the new engines at their works at Grand Canal Street in the 1870s. These engines only survived till early 1900s, their demise was due to newly built coupled tanks. Includes AJS Script.
