Built by the GSWR at their works at Inchicore, Dublin, 1909. The design was based off the mistakes learned from the 362 Class and benifits learned from the rebuilding of the 355 Class. The 368 Class was considered a powerful goods engine but also worked passenger services such as the Rosslare-Cork boat trains and the Tralee-Mallow services. Two engines were withdrawn in 1928 during the early days of the GSR and the remaining two survived till 1957 under CIE.
