Fictional Chicago Metro reskin of the ProTrainz NYCTA R36 Subway car. Unreasonable resemblance to early 6000 series cars with trolley poles for overhead wire areas. Newer dark green and white paint scheme.
C model with poles reversed, couple behind A model and reverse car direction. Correct train assembly is A - C (reversed)- A - C (reversed) etc. This will orient all the poles in the same direction, and allow changing from the front A car to the end C car to run the opposite direction. Original ProTrainz description and license follows.
Called 'Low-V' because of their use of safer low voltage control system (as opposed to the earlier 'Hi-V' equipment), these cars were first built in 1915 as special 'Steinway' 2 motor units designed to handle the 4% grade of the Steinway tunnel between Manhattan and Queens.
The first actual 'Low-V' motor cars arrived in 1916, with additional orders in 1917, 1924 and 1925. The original 12 Steinway motors were build by the Pressed Steel Car Company, additional Low-V's were built by Pullman and ACF ('24 - '25). There were also Low-V trailer units, which were mixed with the motors to reduce weight on the old lattice elevated structures in Manhattan and the Bronx.
