Welcome to the Rio Grande Southern model railroad. This is a general freight and passenger operating session with switches set.

Passenger trains 455 and Galloping Goose no. 5 stop at Telluride, Vance Junction, Ophir Loop and Ridgway stations. Engines 40 and 41 are for freight operations, as well as the RGS Shay No. 34 located on the Vance Junction yard spur.

Freight cars are set at loading and unloading spots with their intended loads. There is no interactive IND, so custom loads for the flatcars and the RGS stockcar have been included. Search RC in the commodity picker for the flatcars. The RGS gondola and stockcar use default goods and coal/ore loads.
Telluride Gold mine offloads bagged ore tailing onto the class 18 flatcars. Cord wood, boxcar and flatcar goods loads ship to the Telluride siding next to the goods and hardware stores. Refined oil from the Conoco Oil stop near Ridgway to the Continental Oil Dealership in Telluride. Haybale loads to the hayshed in Telluride. John Deere and McCormick-Deering tractors to the tractor pen next to Continental Oil. The large timber chute structure on the Ridgway side can be use for loading bulk coal. Unload at the coal bunker next to the tractor pen, and also the Vance Junction coal loading ramp behind the engine house. Use the 3 tracks on the Ridgway side for staging.

Engine coal can be obtained from the Vance Junction coal chute, traction sand from the bunker in Ridgway and boiler water from the Ames, Telluride and Ridgway tanks.
