The Hancock 4700 was an odd airhorn designed to replicate the sounds of steam whistles in the early days of dieselization. Used by roads such as the New Haven, EJ&E, and Minneapolis Northfield and Southern, the Hancocks were eventually phased out when it was discovered they were impractical at high speeds.
