This is a sample operating session intended to familiarize you with the 8th Avenue Industrial Railroad. It's a cloudy, wintry morning in Brooklyn, and you're warming up the 8th's 50-tonner and slug, getting ready for the morning's switching. Here are your tasks:

1) Pick up the boxcar at Freighthouse 2.

2) Pick up the boxcar at Loading Dock 1.

3) Pick up the flatcar at Loading Dock 3.

4) Set out these three cars at Team Track 2.

5) Proceed to Rubel Metalworks and pick up the empty gondola there.

6) Pick up the tankcar at Philips - Load 2.

7) Add these cars to the consist at Team Track 2.

8) Proceed to Interchange W and pick up the hopper loaded with limestone aggregate and the flatcar loaded with plastic pipe.

9) Set out the flatcar at BR Dock, then set out the hopper at BR Aggregates.

10) Return to Interchange W and pick up the consist there.

11) Set out the tankcars loaded with sulphur acid at Philips Unload 1 and 2.

12) Set out the boxcar loaded with general goods at Freighthouse 4, then set out the boxcar loaded with palletized cement bags at Freighthouse 3.

13) Pick up the consist at Team Track 2, then set it out at Interchange E.

14) Return to your starting point at the 8th's freighthouse.

If you operate efficiently and follow the indicated speed limits, this session should take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
