The first two S Wagons numbers 1 & 2 were built by the American Car & Foundry company in the U.S.A. and assembled at Newport workshops in 1925. The other 99 were converted from E wagons for wartime traffic between 1941 and 1942 and kept there original E numbers, E 1 was renumbered to S 203 as there was already an S 1. With a change in needs by the railways a large number were rebuilt back into E wagons between 1947-1949. From Augest 1962 to May 1963 ’S26’ was recoded to SF then back to S, in the same month it was again recoded but to SEF, in December of 1962 ’S60’ was also recoded to SEF and placed into the SC Cable Drum Traffic, S 60 was briefly recoded to SE in Mid 1963 to say it's lmited to 45mph a month or so later it was again recoded back to SEF, in 1965 these two wagons where rebuilt to SC wagons and fitted with Grade Control so they could run on the Standard Guage, in 1965 the X was added for bogie exchange, from 1974 SCX 1, 2 and 4 had there craddles removed to become another batch of S Flat wagons numbered 1 to 3 but this time with Grade control and bogie exchange, they where constantly being changed between BG and SG over the years and be seen in New South Wales, South Dynon, The Canal, North Melbourne and Electric Crane Area Spencer St, East Yard Spencer St. All SX wagons where placed in storage from late 1978 at North Melbourne except SX 4, SX 2 was converted to HR Service Stock number 22 in 1981.
This model represents SX 2 on Broad Guage from 1974 till 1978 in a dirty Modern Wagon Red and roller bearing bogies, Steps created by Zec.
