The Victorian Railways Type 1 I Wagons were constructed from 1858 to 1874 with Timber and Iron Braces bolted with a drop down door which seems to be standard to that time period and had a few body variations.
This model represents number 75 built by Wright & Sons 1860 with a rather unique axle box that where built during that time and had sheet metal to brace the timber. During the late 1890's these wagons where restricted to workshop depots as they where not fit with airbrake equipment and where useful for holding locomotive parts and moving workshop equipment around. Some of these wagons lasted to 1900's with a few still in service and some rebuilt with the remaining few reclassified IB in 1930.
Notes: This wagon was rebuilt mid 1900's and I have no data on what modifications where done, the letting is also guess work, even though this wagon was restricted to workshop depots I left the full commodities on it for use on goods trains.
