The Victorian Railways Type 1 I Wagons were constructed from 1858 to 1874 with Timber and Iron Braces bolted with a drop down door which seems to be standard to that time period and had a few body veriations.
This model represents the wagon built by Wright & Sons 1860, while other variations where built by Grant 1858-1859, Cale Dookie & Katariatite Rail 1859-1860 and Williamstown Shops 1860-1874 they where probably built to the same body syle with some slightly lower and some slightly higher, they had a rather unique axle box that where built during that time and had sheet metal to brace the timber with prototypical running numbers from the 1907 register using new built wagons from 1897 to 1907 as a guide (except numbers 171, 200 and 211 I left out). During the late 1890's these wagons where rebuilt with brake equipment, modern axle boxes and nobles buffers. Some of these wagons lasted to late 1900's with the remaining few reclassified IB in 1930. Number 69 was off register 1903, number 71 was off register 1908 and number 72 was off register 1903 while number 75 was still on register to mid 1930's as IB 75.
Notes: I have the commodities setup to full goods loads and I recommend putting these wagons at the back of a train to avoid brake problems if you do use them on the mainline. You can identify rollingstock with through brake pipe and airbrake by a 'White Square' or a 'White Plus' painted on the frame so I recommend putting these wagons at the back of a train to avoid brake problems if you do use them and mix them with airbrake stock.
