Commonwealth Railways GM1 to GM11 Class Diesel Electric Locomotive enginespec.
The GM1 Class Locomotive was the first Electro-Motive Division Locomotive built in Australia from 1951 at Clyde Engineering New South Wales, the Locomotive was of a traditional A1A-A1A bogie motor arrangement of the time, on it's way to South Australia it was transfered to Broad Guage at Albury for it to Travel via Victoria to South Australia which it was put back on Standard Guage, one of the Locomotives was leased to Victoria late 1951 for trial runs to design a new locomotive and was Stationed at North Melbourne Loco Dudley St.
