V/Line P Class locomotive where rebuilt from T326, 327, 328, 329, 330, 331, 332, 336, 337, 338, 339, 340 and 344 to make P11 to 23 in 1984/85.
The P Class was designed to run short distance passenger services to increase capacity from the withdraw of the none airconditioned E and W cars, Harris Suburban cars where refurbished for Country lines with 3 Phase 415VAC systems that is powered by a Genset on the P Class, N Class or Power Vans, the P Class can run upto 280km, with a 3 Car Set and DT Van they'll climb the 1in50 grades at 65kph or with a 4 Car Set they'll climb at 60kph which was ideal for the branchlines they ran due to slow speed tight curves such as the Leongatha Line and Baccus Marsh Line which have 20 Chain (200m) radius curves.
P Class where also used on Container Trains that required 3 Phase 415VAC for Refridgeration Containers that held frozen foods, their high axle load also gave them high starting tractive effort which was also useful on heavy freights.
NOTE: This is a rebuild to replace the previous TRS2006 models, they have been built with low details, the high mesh is of about 18k polygons with each bogie about 7k polygons making a total upto 35k, I have a working interior project underway, however it's a long way off. Their is a bug in the script I've setup for the Genset system, when set to running it doesn't play the engine sound during the start of the session, un-coupling and coupling will active the genset system, if set to off you have to do the same to get the PFX to turn off, this model is also fitted R. Peason's fuel Script with changes done by me to make it a little more realistic.
