A Class 317 carrying the Northern livery, in reality this never has happened but could soon.
A rumour has passed round that 9 greater anglia class 317s have been placed into storage after they were displaced by the class 379s, Northern rail has expressed their interest in procurring these 317s to supplement their existing stock.
This is where fiction and reality divide, 9 class 317/5s were cascaded to Northern; following the cascade they had their first class accommodation removed and re-classified to Class 317/9. They were then set to work in various parts of yorkshire, predominantly the Leeds to Doncaster service.
