Since 1911, the Los Angeles Port Police have provided specialized law enforcement protection for the Port tof Los Angeles, the nation’s busiest container port. Nearly 2,000 vessels, including containerships, cruise ships, tankers, breakbulk carriers, auto carriers and refrigerated cargo vessels come through the Port each year. Nearly 100 trains arrive and depart daily, moving commerce along with the thousands of trucks that deliver goods throughout the nation.
