This locomotive was introduced in 1904 to the South Eastern and Chatham Railway and proved so successful that a total of 66 were built for suburban traffic in the London area. In the 1920s increasing electrification of the commuter network led to the locomotives being used further afield on branch lines in the South East of England. 45 locomotives were taken into British Railways stock in 1948 and were finally withdrawn in the early 1960s - one has been preserved in working order.
This model is a reskin of Paul Hobbs' BR lined Wainwright 0-4-4T H class loco into the SR livery.
The model comes 'as is' i.e. it has a rudimentary non-working cab, without driver and fireman figures, and it can't be used in cab mode, which reflects the current state of Paul Hobbs' original BR lined model.
My thanks go to Paul Hobbs for making some necessary tweaks to the model and allowing me to reskin and release the model.
