Garage Accessory Series Castrol Oil Cabinet (1946 logo)
As the dominant player in the UK lubrication market, Castrol products and advertising were a very common sight at service stations. Oil was usually dispensed from hand-operated pumps in special cabinets, and transferred to the engine by branded pouring jugs in quart and pint sizes. Eventually the pumps gave way increasingly to glass and then plastic bottles, though the cabinets often stayed as an advertsising feature.
