MAS Luggage Cart Weathered Tipped
In the days when railways were the dominant form of public transport, passeneger stations handled a large volume of general goods and luggage (which, bearing in mind how voluminous fashions could be, might be made up of several sizable items per passenger). Photos right up until the 60s show a wide variety of carts, barrows and trolleys on the same platform at larger stations, while smaller stops might just ahve a couple of what eever was best suited to their particular needs. Whilst not modelled on a particular prototype, this asset is based on photos of preseved examples, and this version represents one that has been exposed to the eleements for some considerable time.
This iteration is tipped for storage when not in use. Photos of the Highland Railway in LMS days show them stowed under the stairs of station footbridges. This does fit under mine... just!
