Found in small towns and villages - or even by themselves out in the wilds, the small independent garage, sourcing its fuel from somewhere other than the big majors was very much part of the Scottish rural scene until the supermarkets started to muscle in on distribution. Even so, some can still be found in outlying areas, though relatively few now rely on that old Highland standby, corrugated iron, for their construction.
