SBS ARB WM Arbroath War Memorial
Released for the Centenary of the Armistice (hence the KUID no.), here is the War Memorial from Arbroath, on the East Coast of Scotland. It sits on raised parkland overlooking the sea just a hundred yards or so from the East Coast Main Line.
Built of local red sandstone in 1922 to a design by G Washington Browne, it records the names of 491 local men who died in the First World War, 214 in the Second, and a further individual from the time of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, on bronze plaques around the plinth.
