This unusual 2Trk span is based on one in Northern California and crosses a 6-lane
highway. Its unusual because from an engineering point of view there is no need for the deck plate girders on
top of the main truss. All they do other then increase the height is add additional weight the span must carry.
A common solution would be to just make the concrete supports taller and let the main span carry the rails.
On the upgrade, the track was re-gauged to 1000mm, some of the structure was repainted slightly and the
older version changed to 3.5
