This is a standard gauge version of the iron Thai-Burma Bridge (better known as the Bridge Over The River Kwai).
It is not an exact copy but it is fairly close. Today it is primarily a tourist attraction (hence the walkway) but at least one train a
day crosses the span so the escape platforms are necessary. Many thanks to Martin Van Kuilenburg (martinvk) for the many pictures
taken during his trip in 2003.
