A modern UK road 600mm sign warning road users that headroom (for example, beneath a bridge) is limited to 4.4 metres. This version shows the height in metric units only. Under current UK road traffic regulations (2011) signs that display the headroom in metric unit are permitted only if a sign displaying the height in Imperial units (feet and inches) is displayed either above or to the left of the metric sign. The equivalent height to 4.4 metres is 14 ft 6 in.
