The 108A passenger coach was one of the last designs of a passenger coach based on the 1A type carbody design. They were produced in 1960 by ZNTK Ostrow Wielkopolski as an expanded and modernised version of previous 8A type coach. 903 units were built. They were a primary 2nd class express passenger coach till the end of the 1970s. Many 108A coaches were still found in service in the 1980s, even though the new 111A coaches were already a majority then.
