Polish State Railways inherited its fleet of Eilzug type coaches from Germany after World War 2. Quite modern coaches served local and express transit together with polish built 1A, 2A, 3A and such coaches. Some Eilzug coaches had electric heating installed, others received new interiors without compartments, just like the 4AM class. The Eilzug coaches proved to be very reliable and stayed in regular service long after WW2. Last of these units were removed from regular service in the late 1970s
