The Bald Head Lighthouse is a small, octagonal, brick lighthouse with an outer layer of white mottled stucco plaster that has been faded greyish-brown by the elements. It is often referred to as 'Old Baldy.' This lighthouse used to mark the entrance to the Cape Fear River, but it was deactivated because it wasn't tall enough and as a result, could not be seen far enough away. Not only that, but it wasn't bright enough either. This lighthouse was replaced by the Cape Fear River Lighthouse located further southeast. The Cape Fear River Lighthouse was demolished when the Oak Island lighthouse was built to replace it. While the Bald Head Lighthouse no longer serves as an active aid to navigation, an unofficial amber light was placed in its lantern room and it still turns on at night to this day. The front entrance to this lighthouse is on the north-west side and the lantern is closer to the northwest edge than any of the other edges. This update fixed some texture issues when testing on a high-performance PC with max settings. (The normal map was too deep).
