Instead of a horn, in Tramway practice, a large gong was mounted under the Motorman's platform. The Motorman operated this device with a foot punch. These gongs were remarkably loud and were operated when two trams passed or any obstruction was on the track ahead namely pedestrians.
Version 2 modified only to include thumbnail for DLS.
