A total of 191 Drop Centre type tramcars were built by the Brisbane City Council and several coachbuilding contractors between 1925 and 1938.
No 269 was built by Meadowbank coachbuilders in 1926. Cars built prior to 1928 had open end platforms but were equipped with windscreens later during major overhauls.
Drop Centre Trams built prior to 1935 were hand-brake operated and were equipped with 4ft 6in diamond frame trucks.
Here, this tram 269 is presented in the way it would have appeared when built.
