VR 5 chime whistle sound - S300
This sound is a 5 chime whistle as used on the famed S class steam locomotives on the Victorian Railways. This specific sound is of the 5 chime whistle of S300 from a wire recording of S300 departing Spencer Street Station in the 1950s. The S class had a unique sound, as the whistles had wooden blocks in one or more of the bells to alter the note. The sound would have further changed due to the streamlined casing.
Due to the nature of the recording, this is not a looped whistle. However it is setup as a '2 part' sound to allow you to change the length that it plays a little. It will then repeat the same sound as a loop.
Many thanks to Steve Lerro for editing this very historic sound recording to be usable in Trainz.
