VR G Class Carriage Truck - #61 - Weathered
The Victorian Railways had a number of 'Carriage Trucks' in service from 1858 till 1963, although most had been withdrawn, rebuilt to other wagon types (mainly K flat wagons), or reclassified in the 1920s. From approximately 1924 till 1963, only two Carriage Trucks remained in service, these being a larger 6 wheel variety capable of carrying up to 15ton, numbered G60 and G61 and were the 5th design of G 'carriage' wagon. These were subsequently re-classed to 'GH' in 1937, with the introduction of 'G' type open wagons.
The wagons were designed for the transport of horse drawn carriages, buggies, and argicultural machinery. Some versions were also capable of being fitted with a removable canopy.
This model represents the type 5 G wagon (numbers 60/61), without the canopy fitted. This version represents G61 as it may have looked after a number of years of service circa 1927, with with faded and weathered paintwork, and heavier wear on the deck. A model representing G60 in 'as new' condition (circa 1915) is also available, as well as both wagons lettered as 'GH' wagons, with appropriate lettering.
This model uses ACS to animate the brake hoses and screwlink coupler, as well as to add a tail disc and tail lamp when placed at the end of a train. This wagon also has an animated handbrake. The main model has three levels of detail, these being 6352 polys, 2548 polys, and 976 polys, all using 1 material (3 images).
This model is setup to run on broad gauge (5ft3in) track, and has static screwlink couplers. These wagons make use of the 6 wheel 'enginespec' asset by azervich to improve in-game physics.
