PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER TO UTILIZE SAME-NUMBER ARN (AUTO ROAD NUMBERING) ON BOTH THE A UNIT AND B UNIT OF THESE CARS, it Will be necessary to maunally type in the B-unit number to match the A-unit number. This can be accomplished by clicking the ? icon and typing in the desired number in the road number window that opens.
The latest design in auto racks is the Auto-Max, which was developed by the Honda and Greenbrier companies. The multi-level Auto-Max can hold up to 22 vehicles and support both cars and trucks by maximizing the space between the railcar's axles. Honda ordered a fleet of 400 Auto-Max railcars and says it has the highest rail-shipping rate of any automaker at 82 percent
The Auto-Max railcar is a fully integrated, two-unit railcar design with unmatched security. The sides are of 11-gauge sheet steel. Tight-
sealing composite doors have lockable bars and deck access ladders are hidden inside the doors to prevent roof access.
Other quality features include two-unit articulated design for a smoother ride and a wider interior with door edge protection.
Auto-Max is the only railcar in the industry that carries most vehicles in a tri-level configuration. The adjustable decks can be
moved to adapt your fleet as needed to respond to auto industry model changes.
