The Minneapolis and St. Louis acquired 500 of these cars from Bettendorf in 1916. Oddly, only even roadnumbers were assigned. The design was a clone of the Fowler-patent boxcars with all patented components eliminated to avoid royalties. These cars retained the K triple valve until retirement. The final cars were retired in 1949.
