During the early 1900s the N.E.R. utilised the S3a Type of box when quadrupling part of the Y&NMR line in Yorkshire between Chaloner's Whin and Burton Salmon.
The S3a type was also found at several other sites across the Southern Division of the N.E.R. with an example of the type being built as late as 1910 at Whitby Bog Hall Junction.
The Southern Division encompassed most of the company's lines which were in Yorkshire.
This model is based on the S3a type box located at Church Fenton North as it was between 1939 and 1948.
Circa 1939 the L.N.E.R. built a flat roof brick blockhouse close by the south of the box, replacing the box's original perpendicular ladder with a parallel one.
During November 1948 British Railways shortened the operating floor by around a third, leaving the locking room base its original length.
Frank Routledge did the research and was responsible for many of the photo textures, Chris (Nawlins) gave lots of input as well. V2 works better for lod in TS19.
