During the early 1900s the N.E.R. Southern Division utilised the S3 Type as their standard signal box on their line in Yorkshire between Church Fenton and Burton Salmon. This one, based on
Bolton Percy, between Colton and Ulleskelf on the old York and North Midland Railway route to Normanton, was built during 1904. The signal box was situated between the running lines at the northern end of the island platform which was the station there. Bolton Percy station was closed during 1965 but the signal box lasted until the resignalling scheme in 1983. Originally with 50 levers it was reduced to 35 levers some time during WWII.

Frank Routledge did the research and was responsible for many of the photo textures, Chris (Nawlins) gave lots of input as well.
