In the 1960s my father was infatuated by Cadillacs, he wanted one, but could never seem to get his hands on one, and my mother hated them. Up the street from my maternal grandmother's house was a vacant lot where some local guy had about 3 or 4 1956 Cadillacs stored, I would often go look at them. They were all in not running condition, but the nicest one in the group was a yellow 56 Coupe Deville with a white top. It appeared to be all there, but as far as I know did not run at the time. I often wonder where that car ended up, it was actually in pretty good shape for a car just sitting in a vacant lot. Dad eventually owned several Caddys, a 61, a 66, a 72, and an Eldorado, a 79 I think. I returned to the area for the first time in years in 1976 and all of those cars were gone. I like all the 50s Caddys, but 56 is my favorite!
