TMR - 30ng The Clear Lake Mining Railroad, Woodlands - HD is a one baseboard 30in narrow-gauge model trainz layout.

It will work in Trainz Plus Build 123315. It probably will work in future versions of Trainz Plus. It may work in earlier versions of Trainz Plus and possibly updated versions of TRS2022.

The terra-forming and textures are all HD, and the textures and vegetation are seasonal, displaying different skins for autumn, winter and spring/summer. There are three clutter layers, one of which shows spring flowers, that can be activated or deactivated individually in Driver. A youtube video shows how this is done. As with all my layouts there is considerable scope for operations. Ore, for example, is transported from the two mines to the smelter, or to be loaded directly onto barges at Clear Lake. Smelted bagged ore to be loaded at the Steamship Wharf. Supplies of coal and fuel to be hauled from Clear Lake to the smelter and mines. Miscellaneous equipment moved from the wharf. Specialised mining gear from the workshop.

All the dependencies for this layout are either built-in or on the Download Station. But do use Manage Content to make sure all dependencies have been captured.

I owe a debt of gratitude to Rich Blake (Slugsmasher) for the original Clear Lake layout.

In the sessions that will follow, you have to undertake specific tasks. The tasks are displayed in a large pop-up window that can be opened and closed using the Function F1 and Esc keys.

For the uninitiated, in all my sessions there aint no pop-ups, no on-screen text messages, no hand-holding, no scoring.

You are Chuck and Joe, The Dispatcher’s premier crew. In most sessions you will have to undertake the roles of Locomotive Crew (driving the locomotive), Switchman (setting the switches), Yard Master (directing the Crew to the correct location for loading and unloading), and Load Master (loading and unloading the freight cars). In some sessions you may also be the MoW (Maintenance of Way) Foreman, the Barge Master (ensuring the freight cars are correctly loaded onto a Barge so that it does not capsize), and other tasks as required.

The route should appeal to those who like driving diesel and steam locomotives in either Cab or DCC mode, those who enjoy switching operations in a relatively confined but realistically portrayed environment, and those who just like playing with model trains.
