A main runway for aircraft, with separate takeoff and landing alignments, all operations are in the same direction. This model has a bitumen finish to the runway surface. It has four attached tracks in different colours, with appropriate gradients:
a normal takeoff in green,
a short takeoff in purple,
a landing track in blue and
a touch and go track in red.
Stopping points for aircraft are provided for navigating under AI driving:
two taxiway stops before entering the runway awaiting clearance,
takeoff stops on the start of the runway for engine runup,
a landing stop on the other end of the runway landing track, and
a taxiway off stop on leaving the runway.
In Surveyor or Driver, click on the placed runway model to view a HTML page explaining the track arrangements.
You will need to place speed limit signs to control the speed of aircraft, my aircraft are designed to tilt (bank on curved track) above 36 or 45 kph, depending on the type of aircraft, and on sharp curves above these speeds the wings will dig into the ground. You also need track signalling and speed signs for operation under AI.
