Track attached to many turntables vanishes as the turntable is rotated. The vanishing track is usually the second spline segment away from the turntable. This model is a stub track used to replace this second attached spline segment of track and is designed to prevent this part of the track from vanishing as the table moves. It is a mocrossing object.
1. Place the object near the ends of the track that is attached to the transfer table or turntable.
2. Use invisible track to join one end to the table (I suggest kuid:60238:37038), and at the other end, to join it to your chosen track spline. Make sure you connect the invisible tracks ONLY to the attachment points INSIDE the object (this is the invisible track on the object), NOT to the attachment points at the ends of the object.
3. Choose the track type you wish to show across the object, from the Surveyor track menu, and join it to one of the OUTER attachment points, then DELETE it. The required track will now show as updated across the model, but will not be connected or used in the main drivable train track.
4. Join the invisible track to the turntable, and move the object close to the table, to close the junction between it and the table, squashing up the invisible track until it disappears. Attach the required track to the other end of the invisible track, and move it to close up the gap with the object, so the invisible track disappears.
5. Make sure you do not form a loop or overlap in the compressed invisible track or trains will derail. Try to keep the attached track straight, a sharp curve will be noticed at the junctions.
6. Adjust the height of the object as necessary.
The object shows your required track texture. Remember an object will only update once, if you change your mind and wish a differetn track to show, delete and replace the object.
When the table is operated, the invisible track might vanish but you will not notice it as it is already invisible, but the object itself will not disappear, and continue to show your chosen track.
Note: Any locomotive parked on the object will still vanish!
