An Osprey V22 Tilt Rotor aircraft, US Marines 6391. It operates on invisible track and will load passengers and goods at a suitable landing terminal. The real aircraft has a top speed of 463 kph and an all up weight of 23,859 kg for a straight vertical lift.
The aircraft tilts and banks realistically. The rotor diameter is too large to be set vertical while on the ground. The aircraft normally takes off vertically or with the rotors at a shallow angle for a short take off length for heavier loads.
- initially the rotors are stationary, use the B key or triggger setting 2 to start or stop the rotors;
- The helicopter will lift and hover above the track, using the H key or trigger setting 1 - use the H key again to lower the helicopter;
- maximum hover height is 15 metres, variable in the string table above, set to 10 metres default.
The aircraft has an automatically operating landing gear. This retracts at takeoff speed (140 kph) set in the script and lowers at speeds below 140kph. The aircraft will bank realistically. The speeds for commencement of aircraft banking and landing gear retraction on takeoff may be altered in the string table above - speeds are in kph.
It has automatically operating tilting engines and rotors, the rotation angle is based on the aircraft speed. The operating rear cargo door uses the V key, or the Aircraft Action Trigger number 3. It has night lighting using the L key. This version has animated rotor blades. Military and commercial aircraft sometimes use the same keys and trigger settings for differerent animations. If you find conflict on the same route, set the train priority of the trigger and the particular aircraft to a different value to differentiate.
It does not have an operating interior, but does have various exterior views based on an invisible interior, use the [ and ] keys from the interior view. The aircraft will load passengers or jeeps at suitable airports. Military and commercial aircraft sometimes use the same keys and trigger settings for differerent animations. If you find conflict on the same route, set the train priority of the trigger and the particular aircraft to a different value to differentiate.
