A KC-135 Tanker aircraft of the USAF. It operates on invisible track and will load passengers and general goods at a suitable landing area. The aircraft has an automatically operating landing gear. This retracts at takeoff speed (200 kph) set in the script. It lowers at speeds below 200kph. The speeds for tilting and landing gear retraction on takeoff may be altered in the string table above - speeds are in kph.
It does not have an operating interior, but does have various exterior views based on an invisible interior, use the [ and ] keys from the interior view. The aircraft will load and unload passengers at suitable airports.
The aircraft has a number of animations that can be operated by keyboard keys, or the Aircraft Action Trigger, kuid:76656:24050, when placed on track and set to the correct number:
- refueling probe use the B key, or trigger setting 2, or setting 10
- horn sound H key is a welcome aboard in flight announcement, or trigger setting 1
- it will issue smoke and sound from the tyres when landing, use trigger setting 4. See my wepages for further details.
The aircraft deploys a refueling probe to couple with the FA-18 fighters for simulated refueling. The KC-135 operates on the same track as other aircraft. Using the B key or Action Trigger setting 10, the tanker lifts above the track by 7 metres and deploys the probe.
The FA-18 approaching from the rear couples with the probe with its own refueling probe. A second trigger further along the track retracts the probe, and lowers the KC-135 back to track level. After you decouple the FA-18, the aircraft operate separately again. If you use the B key when the aircraft are coupled, the FA-18 fires missiles, it may shoot down the tanker - use the track trigger at setting 10 for best operation.
