Montpelier & Barre RR #30 was the most elusive of Pinsly owned 44 tonners. To date, only one photo has come forward of this unit to work from. This is a GE 44-tonner Switcher built in 1944 for use in industry and shortline switching applications. The 44-tonner was designed to comply with a 1937 industry agreement that permitted one-man operation of diesels weighing less than 90,000 pounds.
