Fairbanks-Morse built there Consolidation-line in 1950 known as C-liners the same year the GP7 came out so only a few were sold. This is the passenger version with an odd B-A1A wheel arrangement and FM's opposed-piston engine. The 2,400 hp CPA-24-5 had the greatest power per foot of length at that time. Only 22 were made in the U.S. Used by LI, NYC, and NH. Nearly identical locos were made in Canada by Canadian Locomotive Co. for CN and CP. The bogeys were unique to the C-Liners.
