American Flyer Tender The GS Class was designed and built for the Southern Pacific Railroad to serve for their Daylight Express service between Los Angeles and San Francisco. For the 1976 Bicentennial a GS-4 was one of several repainted Steam Locomotives that participated in a Cross Country Bicentennial Tour. This was reskinned as The American Flyer at the request of Kim Manning. Many thanks to Dennis Marus for the use of his engine tender
