I spotted this caboose in the UP yard here in Bakersfield California last weekend 3-11-06. The UP yard here is not used for switching any more. It was used extensvly when it was the SP yard, But when UP bought out SP, a few years ago, they shut this yard down, Its only used for MOW now by UP, since they own all of the track in this area. UP has there main yard in Fresno, 80 miles north of here. BNSF still has right of way through the yard and since BNSF's yard is on the other end of town and still quite active, there's a lot of BNSF traffic through the yard, as well as UP.
