The Classic Silversides, known for their aluminum fluted siding formed the
first large fleet of diesel-powered buses in America. Following automobile
design standards of the times, the Silversides had a gear shift mounted on the
steering column. All were delivered with installed factory air-conditioning. A
few were even equipped with a restroom on board. A first in cross-country
travel.
The Silversides were the mainstay coach for Greyhound Lines and their
affiliates in the United States and Canada. Operating on their mainline routes
from 1947 through the mid 1960s when Greyhound began phasing this model out.
This Greenpeace repaint of Gary Bjork's original model was created by Dave
Smith - id chuffchuff - with the kind permission of Gary. Model to be used in
the scenarios for the South East England Trainz Project. www.trainz.me.uk. Other
than repainting the body all other files used are Gary's originals.
