SOUTHLINES 2020 1.1

This route is based on a section of the main Sydney to Melbourne line between Harden and Cootamundra in New South Wales with a section of the Blaney to Demondrille cross country line.
The original Southlines model was started soon after the first release of Trainz and released as Southlines 2004. That is why the appearence looks so dated in parts, there was no DEM and no Google Earth when much of this was built. The map was originally made based on topographic maps and trackplans from the 1950's and that has not changed a great deal in this new version.
I chose to model this era because it was the time of the change from steam to diesel and the system then was probably at its busiest (at least in terms of the number of trains running)
After a number of years it was slightly upgraded with some extensions made and was rereleased as Southlines 2014.
In 2019 I was approached by Footplate Phil who wanted to extend his Weddin Route to the Town of Young, basing his map on part of the old Southlines.
I gladly gave him permission to do this, and shortened Southlines accordingly. His route is excellent and his landscaping skills far exceed mine.
I have made some slight changes to the remainder of the route which is now as you see it.
Mostly what I have done is add some of the great content that has been made and shared by people over the last eighteen years. The landforming is not as good as modern maps, but that cant be helped. It is what it is, if you dont like it delete it.
I would like to thank the many people who have made and shared their content over the years. Without the third party content this map would not have been possible. I would particularly like to thank Natvander for making the NSW semaphores for everyone and Footplate Phil for the backdrops which if used correctly add a dimension to the route. Any errors of placement are my own.
I would like to thank those who have encouraged me to dust the old thing off and give it this rough update.
Any mistakes in trackwork, design, signal and junction placement are mine.
I have tried to name all signals and junctions and trackmarks in a consistent manner. This is not necessarily the way NSWGR did it but as there are a lot of objects I thought it best to name things at the base level. There are even interlocking towers (which are not configured) at base level.
I am still surprised and humbled that other people thought it worthwhile to make extensions to the original map. Thank you all.

If you wish to make sessions based on the map you are most welcome, but please do NOT make changes at the Route (base) level without asking. If you want to upload your session to the DLS for others you may do so, provided that you acknowledge the base map.
You are welcome to clone the map for merging with other peoples maps.
You cannot use this route or any versions of the map or sessions for profit.(I dont actually suspect that anyone would want to to do that)
